I don't know if it was an accident, but the way you chose increasingly closer grain as the petals moved to the center of the rose gave it a magnificent perspective.

What a splendid representation! With that sort of instinctive feel for wood, you really must try your hand at marquetry.

A most excellent rose! I love the wood choice and grain placement and the whole overall effect. Two thumbs up!

G'day Bobbi,
If you would like my honest..................... really honest opinion....................................
it's bloody marvellous.
That has got to be one of the best looking pieces I have seen.

It just all falls together nicely.

Congrats on great piece.

Sorry Bobbi,
After seeing the rose with a light background I have to take back what I said about it.

Using the word "beautiful" is absolutely the wrong word. Beautiful doesn't even come close to what that amazing stunning work of art is. I would have to agree with John. The simple elegance of the rose, enhanced by the black background.

Next time Trout enters his work in a show, you should enter your rose. Might break his ribbon streak!

I gasped... Definetly a true work of art. As others have said, great use of wood grain, and I think it looks great on the black background. The whole thing just makes me step back. Wonderful work!!

That is beautiful. I like the whold thing. You have altered the pattern and made the whole piece your own. My kind of stuff.

Thank you again for all the nice comments.
They encourage me to continue learning the fun art of scrolling.

I still have a lot to learn and a lot more practice needed before I can even come close to the wonderful artwork so many of you are able to produce.

Thanks again,

Bobbi

I have to agree with the others - your use of the grain of the wood is terrific! The black background really makes the rose pop! You should be proud of this piece - it is really outstanding!

Wonderful job Bobbi. I love the frame that the rose and plaque are hanging from. Did you make that too?
