I like it very much!! Great job! I like the black oval, but I agree that a pic with a lighter background might look better to you. I think it's excellent.

Shazammmm, Bobbie, that is one of the prettyist roses I have Ever seen. I love how you placed your pattern to show the pettals on the grain like you did. it really does look like it is in full bloom. Wow. very nice indeed. I like the black back ground aswell. now if no one tryes to gong it. for a dinner bell. just beautifull, indeed. your friend Evie

Excellent work on that, the grain orientation is perfect as is your choice of Oak. The black oval sure make it pop!

Thank you all for your nice comments.
I'm going to try to make another smaller version using thicker wood (this was 1/2 in.) that way I can try to really make the petals look life like.

Here is another picture with a lighter back ground.

Gorgeous. I like the black mounting. It really sets off the rose well. The grain pattern in the petals really emphasizes their curves.
