Thanx for the kind words everyone

Here is the mantle " dressed out " ( ignore the crooked candles )
sword5r.jpg

The sword is a project I completed over the weekend from a Berry Basket pattern
sword3r.jpg

sword4r.jpg

It is made from Walnut, cedar and maple and is about 30" long . The blade and handle core is a solid 3/4" piece of walnut. I roughed out the blade with a hand planer and did the final shaping by hand with sandpaper. All other final shaping and rounding over was done by hand as well. Took about 3 weeks but I am happy with the results

The shields are one of the first scrolling projects I ever did. My own design and they definitely look better from a distance!

Great work Robert. I was going to work on a sword design till I bought the Berry Basket Pattern set and figured why reinvent the wheel.
You are certainly pulling it all together.

Kevin, if you want a battle axe you can have mine. I have been married to her for 30 years, heck I'll even pay the postage.

Looks like a great place to pass the grogg. And if it's not too geeky, a good place for D&D.

Nice collaboration and a beautiful mantle as a result. Be proud, both of you.

ROFL.

Dane, I was talking about that tool of war that is designed for both cutting as well as blunt force. A heavy wielded weapon that causes dread when seen by the your opponent.

Oops. that's what YOU were talking about.

I was referring to the tool can also be used for chopping down trees.
