| Road King Nice cut Merle. Very nice. Am new to scroll sawing and this forum. Started sawing in January. Not familiar with all of the lingo yet, but catching on fast. You mentioned you used 1/4 inch BB. Is that similar to MDF? Did you stack cut? Would like to get my hands on that pattern. Could you tell me how? It's probably over my head right now, but I do like a challenge. Thank you. Fred |

| you did a beautiful job on that Merle, very intricate cuts, Fulclip 1/4 BB is baltic birch plywood, a lot thinner then MDF I belive (Gill is the MDF expert)

| Nice job, I hope you stack cut it so that you have another to give away or sell.

| Nice scooter !
One or two people have been asking about MDF lately so perhaps it's time to point out the wikipedia entry for it. Also, I believe Bob discusses MDF in the latest edition of the magazine, but no doubt it'll be another few months before I get to see it. It all depends on the Atlantic currents and how tightly stoppered the bottle is when Fox Chapel's distributor throws them into the briney...
MDF is great for segmentation but I'd be wary of using it for fretwork - it isn't very strong when cut thinly and it looks like cardboard, so it has to be painted.
The thinnest MDF I've seen in the DIY sheds is 4mm (about 1/8" ? ).
