Scrolled Yarn Bowl
This is my "stab" at Carole's Scrolled Yarn Bowl in SSW&C current issue. It's made from Sassafras and baltic birch plywood. These are the only woods I had available. I intend on making another one out of Cherry and Purpleheart. It's was fun to make, just didn't like the scrolled side. I don't like spiral blades, but used one anyway. Also used my Dremel on it.
All comments and criticism welcome!
Wow! You are fast. I got my mag yesterday but you must have gotten yours earlier. That is really good work.
The deep color adds to it..
Nice job, Charles. I'm not very good with spirals, which is why I left plenty of wood for smoothing things out.
Did you make it with someone in mind?
I like the contrasting wood. Nicely done.
Wow, Charles, that is a beautiful bowl. The colors are great. I am still working on the basic bowl. I just got the flex shaft and accessories from Seyco.
Very nicely done Charles. good choices for color and grain. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Very nice you must get the magazine earlier because I just got mine 2 days ago.
Might take a crack at it but the golf season will open here soon, so the shop is closed during the golf season.
Golf has a season? Oh ya, I live in Arizona. I forgot about the rest of the world.
Now now Dave be nice, some of us with frozen butts may get a bit testy!
