Default Small Oval Box

This is my 1st project for 2013 and the last one until things warm up outside and I can be in the garage without running the heater!

I made this will 100 % scraps from another project and the pattern is in this book

I (as I always do) modified the instructions but hey I got it done with what I had on hand. I glued several scraps of wood together and filled the gaps with a wood putty, slamped it and allowed it to dry and then cut the ring for the bottom of the box. It worked and I am happy with the end results.

The knob is a compound cut and I used my new Jig for the first time (after injuring my hand my husband and I put our heads together and made the jig.) The hand has healed and I am okay!

Like I said it is all scrap, Pine Wood. Finished measurements are 3 1/2 inches tall (from the table to the top of the knob,) and 3 3/4 inches at the longest points of the oval.)

Very nice. You'll be back in the garage before too long. Won't be able to stay for long! LOL
