The shell is really nice the grain really pops. The boxes look great also. What will they be used for?

The SIL boxes I suspect will be used for general purpose. The Ying - Yang symbol is the symbol of their State Social Worker division. She plans to give them to her co-workers.

To tell you the truth Paul I do not know what the angle is that I cut this one. I took a 2x4 and drew a line on the end from the upper left corner to the lower right corner and cut that on my bandsaw. I believe it was 26 wedges that I cut.

DW,
Great to meet you at NEOS... wish we could have spent more time.

As far as the angle, when the shell comes around like that without making a real large opening, that corresponds to lower wedge angles... see Steve Garrison's drawing that shows the shapes for various wedge angles. I'm only guessing, but I'm thinking about 18-20 degrees on that one.
What did the shell's overall size turn out to be?

Spence,

The over all size of the shell was almost 6 inches the ring it is sitting on is about 3 1/2 inches in diameter. It was great meeting you as well at the picnic as well.
