Default two bowls

Hi there

here are my first two bowls i made, these are Steve Good's patterns. i could have done a better job with the sanding but i don't have the tools ( i sanded them by hand) and i was quite excited to finish them that i did not do a good job there.
the wood that i used is called Cedrillo (Huertea cubensis Griseb) which is a soft wood that people use a lot around here.

Bye

Nayo

The bowls looks great Nayo. Sanding is always the hardest part. Thanks for sharing them with us

Very nice looking bowls Nayo. As time goes on with your bowl making, you will learn like the rest of have, that making sure the board you are cutting, is super flat, makes a big difference when you start gluing up the rings...makes them fit together much better. Did you make and use a bowl press for the rings...that helps allot. Having the good sanders does help allot I have found. But I would say your first bowls look very good...

yes, sanding is the part i dont like very much, i did not have a bowl press so i used the next best thing, like two gallons of water in a big jar and put it over the bowl, i cant get a sander right know so for the time being my hands will have to do it.

i will keep you post it.
