Default Back-up plan for access to videos

To provide a back-up, if you have trouble accessing the videos on the blog, I've saved them on You Tube, and give the link with each post. Should solve the problem.

I WAITED patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry.
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay,
And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will see and fear
And will trust in the Lord.

Thanks, Kip. Joe has been in the background from the start--his bowl is the "beginner makes a bowl" sidebar in the book, and he has been responsible for a lot of the careful editing that's so critical when trying to show others just what you mean.

Looking forward to seeing your bowls once you get started.

Default thanks for the help

Carole, Just want to thank you for the bowl book. I got a copy and have made at least one of each in the book. I have gotten many how to books in the past and this has the most info I have seen. Again thanks, and will you have a new book out soon? I will be the first in line when it's published. Good luck in the future.

Thanks for the kind words, Neil. I can't believe that you've actually made every bowl in the book! If you ever get around to it, please post pictures of your work on the forum. I'm sure others would love to see what you've done.

The new book won't be out for about another year, I'm told. Although it's a box book, it's unlike any others out there, and uses a lot of techniques from the bowl book. I'm very excited about it, and can't wait until I'm "cleared" to begin talking about it.

Thanks again for writing, and post pictures!

Default Video Suggestion

Carole,

Still waiting for the weather to cool some so I can get into the shop to try my first box. (Shop close to 100F outside right now, well fall is coming, isn't it?)

Yesterday to get my fix of scrolling, I decided to watch your videos. I think I saw them all and love them and am even more eager to get out there. (Bought Guinevere system, and a Sanding Pad setup and ordered some wood from Ocooch)

In getting ready to find the videos, I discovered that while the links in your blog work great when at my computer, they do not from my iPad. So on to YouTube. The problem is searching. You can not search on the poster (scrollergirl) only by title. Not all the titles are obvious. I think I found them, but suggest you take on a project of renaming them with some word or words that when searched on will find all your videos. Like "scrollergirl"?

There is something called a YouTube channel, but I confess to not knowing anymore about that.

Keep up the great work. When I mentioned to one of my grown daughters about being able to reach the author of the book I was studying with questions (on this forum) you should have seen her eyes get big. Thanks for your participation and response here.

Steve, thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed the YouTube videos.

If you put "scrollergirl" in the main search box (that's my channel) you should come up with all my videos. I just gave it a try from my computer, and it seemed to work OK.

I think I'm up to 29 videos, split between woodworking, baking, and cake decorating. So, if you want to know how to make biscotti, bialys, or Sunshine golden raisin cookies, take a look at those, too.

Since you're relatively new to the forum, you might not know that I was a fairly new scroller and regular forum member before I got lucky, attracted some notice from the 2007 design contest, and started playing around with scrolled bowls. I've easily received from forum members at least as much as I've given, and am grateful for all the help, support and friendship I've found here. In fact, the box book is dedicated to forum members, who inspired me to create the very best projects I could so my friends could enjoy making them.

As I try to lose weight, I think I will stick with the woodworking videos!

Thanks,
