Talking One of my trinket boxes.

I made this with 1/4" walnut and 1/4" wide X 3/32" thick purple heart. The compartment is curly or figured walnut, I didn't know how pretty it was until I put the finish on. I used a router with a 1/4" straight bit to make the grooves and set the depth to the thickness of the purple heart. The initial is of curly maple and inlaid per Jim Collins' article. The lid and bottom is 7 1/2"L x 5"W, the compartment is 6"L x 3 1/2"W x 2 1/2"D. The lid and bottom are rounded over with a 1/8" router bit. This a birthday present for my oldest granddaughter.

Merle, How beautiful!! The woods really compliment each other and the placement of the figure on the walnut... outstanding!! Lucky girl!
