I put the finishing touches on the latest chess set today and took some pictures. Here are some overview pics.

Now, one interesting thing is there was a void running through the walnut and it had it's largest part on the rook. The rook was designed after the ruin of the Canterbury Castle, so I left it. The Knight was also affected.

Great work Jim. It looks like you put felt on their bottoms, did you? Or is that flocking? Would flocking work there?

Did you put a weight in the pieces to give them heft?

I have those plans, now if I just could get off of my duff.

Mike, I felted these, had not thought about the flocking, don't see why it would not work.

As for weights, no, not on these, with the inside cuts I just didn't have the room on this pattern. I'm going to modify the pattern so I do next time. I just put the weights in the Notre Dame set and am filling the holes now, so it ought to be ready for a debut shortly.
