Default Earing Holder

I have just finished a earing holder for our DIL's birthday and thought I would share it with you. This was my first attempt at compound cutting.
Thanks for looking
Paul

G'day Paul,
I've been thinking about making one of those for ages. Some good ideas there.

Great looking piece and a great gift.

Nice cutting, and it looks beautifully finished as well. as for compound cutting...to me a compound cut is something scrolled on one side, then the workpiece is rotated 90 degrees and cut on the other side. I dont have a link handy to show you what I mean, but they are sometimes referred to as 3-D cutting. Either way, your DIl is going to be one happy girl! Dale

OPaul - that is very nice - I also liked the way you raised the scroll work, tapering the cut you could of gone either way - raised or lowered it. Good job.

Very nice ear ring holder. She is sure to cherish that for a long time. I too like the relief cutting and the overall design.
