Good luck with the painting
I will be airbrushing it all with a black base before glueing all the layers and acytate in. Then work up to the highlights. To get the olde orange shade to the windows I am thinking of using a small coloured lamp instead of a candle .. time will see.
If it looks half as good as yours I will be happy.Posted 09-08-2009 at 08:48 AM by Ugsduck

As you can see from the pics, all of my windows are single complete items. I am going to glue the colored window material behind the frame so that when the frame is glued to the house the acetate will be between the frame and the house. I have all the windows painted now so that I don't have to worry about getting paint all over my "glass". I still don't know how he final will look but painting an old structure like this is easy because you don't have to be too exact, in fact, the globbier paint looks better on this project. Today I am a glazier (glass worker). I'm having fun.

Thank you for the nice comment. When I first put it out for lease my prospects wanted a little more so I've added a graveyard, a spooky tree with crows, a monster on the roof and a skeleton creeping through a window. I take some time now and then to add more features, still time before Halloween. I back lit the windows with bulbs and front lit the structure with candles behind the graveyard and tree. My 4 y/o granddaughter thinks it is really spooky (and cool).Quote:
