no more Woodcraft for me :(

Posted 10-23-2009 at 10:20 PM by Janette

Well, the day finally came yesterday when I was "let go" from our local Woodcraft store. I saw it coming a mile away and figured I'd just wait for them to say something. I only worked part time, so the money wasn't an issue, but I really enjoyed getting out of the shop/house from time to time and talking to other woodworkers. Ah well such is life. Kevin and I are both home all day together and so far we haven't killed each other More time for scrolling.

In a couple of weeks, we'll be doing a show on the Oregon coast and Kevin's mom will be flying out from Toronto to visit for 2 weeks. She'll be our helper at the show and we'll celebrate hers and my birthdays as well.

    Hi Janet,
Very sorry to hear about you losing your job; times are tough for sure but something will come along when you need it most.
Enjoy the time off and as I say...Happiness is making sawdust.
Good luck with you upcoming show and have a very Happy Birthday!

    Godspeed,
    Tony

Well I don't like hearing/reading about anyone loosing their job, be it part time or other wise. You certainly have plenty to do with your Intarsia projects, and hope they pay off for you.

    G'day Janette,
A decent mixture of sweet and sour there.
Sorry the hear what they did to you, but at least you can stop worrying about it now.

Sad to hear about a friend losing a job. But there seems to be a reason for everything. Now no more wondering when the other shoe was going to drop.

    Happy Scrolling!

Just caught up to this post. Sorry to hear about the transition. Been there, living through it with under-employment, but my mind is in a much better state right now.

You seem to have a great attitude about it and that will help, but I think the woodworkers of Oregon are poorer without you in the shop!
