| $#@%* Carpet Tape This forum is a great resource if you use it. If I had done a search I would not have tried to use carpet tape last night to stack cut. I had to use a putty knife to seperate 1/4" walnut.
Does anyone know if mineral spirits will remove carpet tape adhesive?

| Back up solvents Other solvents options that will also work, Acetone, Lacquer Thinner, Naptha, Toluol ( which is Goof Off), and Xylene.
Let me add, when using these solvents, the tape must be on "unfinished wood, mica, or some of the other similar hard surfaces."

| owler, I used to use carpet tape for stack cutting and broke too many cuttings trying to get them apart. I now use tiny finish nails, I place them in the waste areas and use a piece of railroad rail as an anvil. I pound the nails through the wood to the metal which bends the point over so it won't scratch my saw table. The top of the nails sticking above the wood make nice little handles. When you get near the end of your cutting with nothing left to hold it together just use some masking tape to hold together.

| its always good to have some acetone lying around. That is great at removing adhesives, it will also help remove caulking in your bathtub, and disolves hot melt glue.
I also recently discovered that if you pour it into a ground hornet nest, it burns for quite some time, thus eliminating the nest. Of course you want to do this at night.

| I also use small finishing nails in the waste areas. Have a piece of plate steel on my bench which works well to cleat the nails .Tried my 18 gauge pinner once forgot to reduce the prssure and jammed the gun. Don`t do that anymore.

| owler use spray glue like if your going to use it to attach your pattern to your wood except do both sides and sandwich it for your stacking and paint thinner will get them unglued or just use tape on all the sides, problem solved.
