Thread necromancy is wonderful.

Nevertheless one thing hasn't changed in the past two years - the only saws available in the UK with 18" or better throats are by Axminster, Hegner and Diamond.

It's a shame that Dewalt won't supply saws to the UK although they supply other power tools.

To anyone in Britain looking for a saw...keep an eye on Ebay...I live in England & wanted a saw with a large throat but didn't have £800 to spare on the Hegner, so I was pleased when a 26" Record Power (actually an RBI saw, but sold through Sheffield's Record Power) was up for auction. I won it for about £160 (that included postage!). This saw is no longer sold over here.


I also saw an old looking saw with a huge throat some time ago on ebay that sold for peanuts, it had no makers name & looked very basic.
