Default DeWalt DW 788

If anybody is looking for a new saw Amazon has them right now for $329.99 or including the stand and light for $433.70.

Yes, noticed that too, glad I ordered one last night! Price is back up to $439.00 this a.m. I used a DW788 at a recent scroll saw class, will be a great upgrade from a Delta VS...

The problem I see with Amazon is that if the saw needs to be returned you pay the freight which can be close to $100. I have had to return a 788 to the store because of excessive vibration, right out of the box. Now I test the saw at the store before bringing home.

For me, it is worth buying from Rockler now for $497 simply because we have a Rockler store in the area.

I agree with Terry, I sent back the Shop Fox that I bought from them and they paid for the return shipping and sent me a new saw. Don't worry about Amazon, they will take care of you. A couple of years ago I sent back a clock and they paid for that return also. It wasn't what I ordered so it went back and there was nothing wrong with it at all. I just didn't want a bim bam, I ordered a Westminster chime and I have one now. You'll do great with the new saw and here's hoping you won't have any problems with it. Have a great day Fay

I noticed that price yesterday. What led me to look it up, was that I got a flyer from Rockler promoting a sale on it for $497. Amazon pretty much blew their sale price away.

With the free shipping Amazon offers, that price is (was) a steal. And they do pay for return shipping (if there is a problem with the order which is their fault, such as a faulty product, wrong item, etc).

I'm confused re Amazon returns and they pay shipping.

I just had to return an item and I had to pay the return shipping costs.

Maybe there is a difference between buying from Amazon and buying from company through Amazon's site.

Best I saw on Amazon was $440 without stand/light.

3 yr warranty which is better than it used to be. Plus 1 year service contract.

I checked Amazon's return shipping policy and this is what I found: Within 30 days:
Return Shipping Costs

If you return an item using the return label provided in the Online Returns Center, and the reason for return is not a result of an Amazon.com error, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund. If you choose the U.S. Postal Service option, the amount that will be deducted from your refund is displayed. If you choose the self return option, you'll pay the cost charged by the carrier selected.

Now what is the definition of Amazon error?

unfortunately I have had to return two dewalts that I order through Amazon. I just printed out the label and drop them off at the UPS store. I did not have to pay shipping.
