I'm a beginner and i am looking for a good scroll saw. I understand that i have to spend a lot for a quality scroll saw. I decided to buy a used scroll saw, i think about hegner and excalibur. Can anyone help me find some sites where there are offers (scroll saw USED)? I'm italian! Thanks a lot! |

Not sure where in the world you are but I have had luck with my local Craigslist. In fact two years ago I found a never used a Dewalt Model 1 for $125.00. There are deals to be had. Here is my area Craigslist: craigslist: raleigh / durham / CH classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events

Do you live in Italy? If so, it would cost a ton of money to ship one from the US. FD Mike

I was informed of a Craig's list ad for a Hegner, that I purchased, by someone in this forum. Never know when an opportunity will arise.

This is the Axminster Hegner clone. I don't have any direct experience here, but some have posted positive feedback about this saw. If you can get one cheap (used), I'd give it a shot. It doesn't have the open slot running to the front of the table, so you can't do the "fake" top feed operation the same way as with the Hegners, however, a little machine shop time could probably fix that. I see this saw is £385.00 ($600) new. Hopefully, some of the Europeans that have used this saw can chime in. ------Randy
