Default First Project- Alpha-Snake Puzzle

Here is the first project I have made with my 16" Ryobi scroll saw. I made the puzzle for my 3 year old granddaughter. I made the puzzle out of 3/4" baltic birch plywood and had a tough time cutting it with the cheap blades I was using. I have since ordered some FD blades from Mike and hopefully they will work a lot better.

That is a cute puzzle. Bet your granddaughter will love it.

You did very well on your puzzle. Aren’t we lucky to have grandkids, so we have an excuse to set at our saw? I just hope I don’t overload mine on puzzles.

I have looked at that puzzle, but am not much of a painter. You sure did a nice job painting it.

Good job. I always bring puzzles with me when I visit my kids and grandkids. They seem to look forward to it. The grandkids dive straight into my tote to find them.

Nicely done.

Looks like you did a beautiful job on the puzzle. What did you paint it with and how long did it take?

Great job! You did real well considering less than great blades. You'll really like the FD blades. Paint job is fantastic!

Hi there, I painted it with childrens non-toxic acrylics and then sealed with a gloss varathane. It took me 6 or 7 hours to cut it out ready for painting and another 4 hours to paint it. I worked at retirement speed ( if you get my drift), I think with better blades (FD) and more experience I will get faster. I am still pretty clumsy on the saw and I broke a lot of blades.

The puzzle looks great! I was thinking of making this one too for our daughter.
