Default used scroll saws

There is a place in Baltimore called Skaries that sells new and used shop equipment. I called and the said they had several scroll saws for about 200.00.
What should I look for and would it be worth it. The sell General, dewalt, and delta. thanks for your help.

The answers you received in your previous post would still apply. The brands you mentioned are good names but you have to look close. I had a chance to buy a supposedly brand new saw for a very, very low price. I shook it and it rattled. So I took a piece of white paper and rubbed the side and the paint came off. So I ran, very fast. Without the saw...

Finding a good used Delta P-20 or a Dewalt 788 would be nice. Take a piece of wood with you and try them out. Look for a noisey, vibrating saw and avoid it like the plague. You want a smooth running saw. Most scrollsaws will vibrate at the highest speed. There is most likely a reason they are for sale. I would ask for some kind of warranty so you can use it for awhile and return it if you find out that it is junk.
