Unhappy moving parts

im cutting out a turkey from last years cwc cover and some of the thin cuts are moving on the table when im cutting other areas of the wood im affraid that the are going to break off anyone with any sugestions on how to keep them from breaking or moving i have alot of time in this project now for them to break off

Two suggestions.

1) Tape the fragile pieces in place. The tape will give enough strength to hold it in place.

2) Take the piece that you cut out and tape it back in place (My personal favorate especially in extremely delicate places). If you are stack cutting then place all the pieces back in the cut out and tape both top and bottom. Have never had a problem with this and it holds the fragile pieces in place while cutting the rest of the piece. Good luck.

You should also be aware that the rule of thumb for doing fretwork like that is to work from the center out. This provides the maximum amount of support as you move out.

Thanx for the hints all i wasnt sure if the tape one would work or if it would get hung up never thought of putting the cut out back and wasnt aware of the rule of thumb to cut from the center very good lessons learned man i love this place never to old to learn new tricks thanx again
