Default Cutting long straight lines

I just finishes this violin project. the 4 strings are 8 1/2 in long & 3/32 in wide and I knew if I made one slip it was firewood. I cut several straight lines in scrap trying to figure the exact blade angle to get it to cut straight. Then remembering a tip I seen on this forum I marked a reference line on my table just to the left of my work stock & it worked great then about half way down the first line I got where I did not have to glance at the reference line any more & it turned out fine. Thanks to whoever posted that tip. I mounted it on Red Velvet in a $3.00 Dollar store frame. I will enclose pics. Also I just started using FD blades, I got the blade assortment from Mikes Workshop & I cant believe how good the cut. Hardly no sanding with the reverse tooth blades. Once again thanks for all the good advice that's available on this forum. It sure helps a novice like myself

It sounds as though it all went well for you. I know what you mean about the reverse tooth blade as I have just completed a woven look box. my first attempt was- ok, but when I did another using the reverse tooth blade, the job looked soooooo much better. Its quite amazing the difference!

You're right guy's ! I just got my Superior puzzle & Jewelers blades & they are unbelievable. So small & such a fine line. I never use anything else. I have been scrolling for years & I'm still learning, myself !

Just follow the line and cut slowly. Going too fast will mess you up every time.
