I have an 16" single speed saw i converted to pinless. I put the blade in the adapter and put it in the bottom. this is where I take a twist tie and tie the adpt. to the holder so it wont come out. now I slide my work over the top of the blade put the blade between the pinch blocks at the top. tighten it good. tension the blade. after making the cut take the tension off the blade loosen the pinch blocks and move the work to the next hole and you dont have to mess with the bottom. This saves me alot of time.

I just wanted to give you a big fat THANK YOU, for your plexiglass idea. I have a CW40 and the insert in my table was slightly lower, and it was causing me great pain when the wood would hang up on it. I have now fixed that problem Thanks to you...

Joni ; I may have the same saw as you do.... you can download the manual here - http://www.managemyhome.com//mmh/lis...M/L0804184.pdf I did, it's 17 pages, real clear. Hope this helps you, Steve

I have a Craftsman saw as you describe, which will use either type. For clamping the pinless type I insert the blade and tighten a knob provided on both the top and the bottom which holds the blade in place. I am guessing you don't have knobs on your saw! Doug

So, Joni - did you download the manual??? Did any of the suggestions here help you solve your problem? Is there a resolution, or are you still having problems with this? Steve
