Default How do I put this pattern together?

I bought this pattern on line. It has a border that is on 4 seperate pages. Do I cut out each piece and glue at corners or do I cut the pattern and tape it together and make one entire cut. in short, four cuts and glue or tape together and one cut.

All the people here are a vast wealth of knowledge, you will not go wrong with any advice.
To answer your question about taping or glueing the pattern to you work. What I do is take the pattern to a copy centre and make some copies. Put the original away and work with the copies. I would cut the pattern so that the edges of the the sheet do not over lap. Keep your tape on the top side of the pattern that way when you glue down the pattern you will not have tape next to the wood. With out seeing the pattern it is hard to picture that pattern. I do not glue to the wood ( to much cleanup ). I use clear packing tape first on the top of the wood. The spray the backside of the pattern with glue and stick it down. The packing tape will come off much cleaner.

Scott:
On your pattern is there a statement something to the effect of attachment lines for connecting pattern if so then you need to match up those lines and tape together if there is no such statement then without seeing the pattern it is very difficult to say
But with it being a boughten pattern I would think that somewhere in the directions there should be something on this for you Hope that this is somewhat of a help for you

Is it possible that the author didn't expect you to cut the frame out as a single piece, but rather as 4 separate pieces? Does the grain running make a difference to the presentation?

If you want to make it one piece, make absolutely sure that you've got 90 degree corners when you tape the pattern together. If you cut out separate pieces, you get to learn about mitering!!
