Great work. Now that youve got the big yealla saw, your really going to excell! My favorite of those posted, probably the rose. The photo reflection on the bear doesnt do it justice, and the clocks turned out very nice too!!!

Well if a pastor isn't a man of his word then we are all doomed! Thanks for posting those project pictures.......we love to see pictures here. Gives food for thought.
Glad you and your saw became fast friends, cause you will be spending a lot of spare time (when you get some) with it. Nice job on all the projects.

Way to go Pastor Ed. They all look outstanding. I particularly like what you did with the opening for the clocks. The scalloping really sets them apart. great job.

Thanks everybody for all the kind words. I have been trying to practice (play) with the saw a little bit every day, trying to get up to speed and to where I can actually cut ON the line. As you can see I have been having great fun.

The clocks came from an article in Popular Woodworking (I think) about a Stickley Clock that Antiques Road Show Appraised for $4,000. I thought it was cute so I made a pair.

The rose started out as a free patern from, I think, Kathy Wise's site. I shrunk it down a little, and made a few adjustments then for the smaller size (I can only cut SO small). I just cut it out of a single piece of red oak, so even where I wandered from the line a bit the companion piece would line right up (I am soooo ashamed). Anyway the grain doesn't flow right on a lot of the pieces and I shaped it mostly by hand with sandpaper, files, and strips of emmory cloth strung up on a handle. Got er done by valentines so Mrs. Pastor thinks the new toy (er tool?) is just great!

I will be sure to share more when I get a little better... hopefully that won't be too long!

take care everyone and thanks again for being so kind.

Ed
