I just ran across the ad in ScrollSaw magazine, and can't find a lot of info about them, their web site being rather sparse, imo. No reviews on Amazon.com, and Woodcraft is one of their listed sellers, but they don't have them. The 37090 looks like it wouls have about a 14" (?) throat, and the smallish write up looks really good, and if the store that ordered my new saw can't get them in within a reasonable time, I just may cancel my order, and buy a Proxxon. If.... Does anyone own one or have any experience with them? Thanx, C. Last edited by flyboy; 11-07-2008 at 09:38 PM. |

C I hope someone can answer you. I have been looking for a small saw that I can take on trips and make little gifts for other RVers (little key chains or ornaments maybe just feed the addiction). I would love to take my big saws but that is not an option. Don't be shy if you have one let us know pretty please with sawdust on it.

Hi Flyboy I have issue with blade changing on scroll saws in general. Obviously the more you are prepared to pay the better the blade changing mechanism is. I spoke to the salesman about this Proxxon model and he said that blade changes where not the easyiest thing. Here is a link to the Proxxon website PROXXON Look for the Scroll Saw DSH/E model, it is much better. The Proxxon 37088 DS 115/E is for small projects, so maybe give some consideration to where you will be with you scroll saw in a years time and will it be good enough. You got to hate these tough decisions :-) |

Fabfella: Yep, Decisions, Decisions! I checked the Proxxon website, and the info on the DSH/E is really minimal. The Amazon web site has more, but not really much more informative. Saturday, I was sprung form my care-giver role for a while, so I went to Lowe's and checked out the saws there...Hitachi, Task Force, and Ryobi. They all have blade chucks that require a hex key or similar. The Dremel toolless chucks on my old 1680 "Shaky Jake" are better. But, I presume the blade holders can be swapped out for toolless, at additional co$t. Of course, if I scheme hard enough , I may be able to swing a DeWalt! | |
