| project time? Here is a question my wife asked me . What is the average time it takes to complete a project? I know a lot will depend on the amount of detail. But just a average guess. Thanks J |

| What a question. Your right about the detail. I have spent as little as 10 minutes, including sanding and finishing, and as long a 20 hours to complete a single project.

| I have over 60hrs in one project I did. And have done as many as 5 in one hr. I don't think there is any answer to that question. ![006[1]](http://www.scrollsawer.com/forum/images/smilies/006[1].gif)

Not sure there is a single answere. The longest for me was the heron Intarsia about 20 hrs.
Some other things take a couple of minutes.

| As the others have said, that ain't no easy question.
I'm forever getting my ambitions mixed up with my abilities and have been known to be guilty of saying "That'll only take a couple of hours", 5 hours later, I'm still mucking about. |

| I spoke to a wood turner and he was asked the same question. He answered 12years . That is how long he has been turning wood .

| HMMMMM, does this also include the time I set a piece aside with the attitude that I will finish it later? LMAO I have a box FULL of stuff I started years ago that I set away with this attitude that is still collecting dust (sawdust that is!). Some are just in need of glue-up, sanding and finishing but by Gawd I find other projects to do daily and it seems and the box just gets more full as time goes on.
Some are items that just won't cut the mustard as far as Quality Control goes and trust me I am my own worst enemy when it comes to QC. (Ever get close to completion of a piece and spot a fault in the wood that you missed at start-up and decide to go no further? I have pitched several at this box due to my dissatifaction with the way the grains look!) Others are things I just grew tired of working on, others just got put aside due to special orders, seeing something else that just SCREAMED at me to cut NOW and forget my task at hand, or having a product sell well and need re-stocked. The list of excuses can go on and on but someday these items will get finished one way or another, whether it be cutting up the pieces and making new items, starting a fire or by actually completing the item as it was intended to be whence I started the darn things originannly! |

| A puzzle of some 350 pieces takes me a total of 6 to 7 hours at the saw. I spend it in bite sizes of 20 to 30 minutes at a time and therefore finish a puzzle just about each week.
Great phun..... Carter |
