I took the plunge today and ordered a dewalt dw788 scroll saw and stand off amazon.com....yoo hoo!! Got free 2 day shipping and can't wait to get it! Thanks to all who have left great advice on these saws and thats why I made the decision on a dewalt. Thanks Smitty

YES smitty0312 way to go!!!!!!!!!!!! Try to contain yourself while waiting for "big yalla" to be part of your family. Good luck with it and post some pictures of your cuttings, or saw, or whatever.........we love pictures.

Good choice! Listen to Dale though, might as well order up the blades. And don't think "a couple a dozen will do." If you're really hooked, you'll be buying them by the gross! You'll go throurh the first dozen or so just learning about tension and turning... Also be warned, the first time you bust a blade, it'll scare the hell out of you! |

Hey smitty, I think Im gonna get me one of those saws to. ( Dewalt DW 788 ). I have a craftsman 16 inch variable, I just bought. It gave up the ghost. The funeral was sad. The uligy went as follows ....( Here lies a Craftsman saw I just bought, Should have spent the money on a Dewalt......Moment of silence Please........

Good Choice Smitty- I made the mistake of trying a cheaper saw- It was a disaster. I to just opted for A DW788 I love it.
