Default Basswood Pronunciation

Hello all, I am a brand new carver and I'm reading everywhere that a good carving wood is Basswood, I just have one question. How do you pronounce it: is it Bass like in bass fishing, or is it Bass like in bass guitar? I know, I know...this is probably a stupid question, but when I order some wood I don't want to sound like a complete idiot! Thank you in advance for your answers.

Carven JO, You should have called the order in and taken the chance that you might have pronounced it right. Only one person on the phone line. These fellas will tell everyone. :
