Default Best of The Northwest Show?!??

Hi All,

Just thought that I would let you know about the above mentioned show. It was listed in the events section of WCI. It was billed as a woodworkers show and I thought COOOL a show in my town...I gotta go...maybe meet some local and distant carvers and of course make lots of new friends....'it could happen!'

Well it was a total disappointment...The nearest thing I can relate it to is, the local arts and crafts venue 'Portland's Saturday Market'. Only this was way more upscale. (One guy had a furniture studio where in he made custom fit rocking chairs. In the studio his rockers go for $4900.00, but as a show special you could get one for $3500.00.) And not a single wood carver other than me in attendance. I was sorely disappointed, and more than half the exhibit hall was taken up by people and their products/services for sale that didn't have anything to do with wood.

OH WELL, I tried! LOL!

I got some stocking stuffers for my blushing bride...so all was not lost!

Chahlie,
You will have to show up at the Chinook Winds Casino in January for the Coastal Carvers show.

It has a lot to do with carving; and don't say it is too far.
When I go through Portland I am only half way there.
