#1 | | Guest | Where can I buy resin I have looked for resin in Home Depote and Lowes but have not seen it. Of course I will admit that I did not ask anyone in the store where it was. I make sticks. I sometimes put an antler handle on the stick and a copper fitting at the top of the stick so that the copper is around both the stick and the antler. I have been filling in the void with wood filler but thought I would like to try the resin.
Does anyone know where to buy it or have other suggestions as top how to fill ion the void. Sometimes the antlers ar not as big as the stick. I attach the antler to the stick by using a threaded rod and glue but the copper or brass fitting just gives it that extra support. | |

| Re: Where can I buy resin Not familiar with resin, but you might try that stick type epoxy filler. It is a wood-looking (light pine or birch) and comes in a stick that you cut off and knead into a single color, then mold to what you need. They also make a 'plumber's putty' that is almost the same only darker. You can probably find either at a good hardware or paint store.
Woodcraft carries it on page 120 of their last catalog. It's called System Three Quick Stick. $5 for on ounce stick and it comes in light and dark 'wood' color. www.woodcraft.com

| Re: Where can I buy resin Yep, Ken that stuff is carveable....a little hard, but it won't hurt your blades. *I've used it to fill a few cracks in a thunderbird mask, and it carved and finished very well.
Oh, ya, it DOESN'T take stain at all, so if you use it be sure to get either the dark or light depending on your needs.
