I apologize for my long absence folks. Sold my camper and bought a new Motorcycle and have been logging lots of miles this summer. Thank you Dale and Evie for picking up my slack. I've attached a couple poor photos of a piece I have hanging in the basement family room. The first is a "head on" shot and the second is sort of a profile that shows relief in the actual piece and the "gap" between parts of the piece and the backer. The shadow conceals most of the gap and it doesn't detract from the overall project. I use a deep profile frame to make sure the image doesn't stick out beyond the front of the frame. I've never had a problem using the clear silicone adhesive. Don't apply it close to the edges so it squeezes out. The big reason I started using it was more for a levelling agent than for its adhesive properties;, however once cured it's there to stay!! In the book I just tried to give folks a starting point and suggestions on how to mount their projects. Nothing cast in concrete as there are as many ways to accomplish that as there are people doing it. Everyone has their favorite way to do things that work for them.

Default What finish

Hi Neal I have just bought the same book It's great, can't wait to get started. Is silicon caulk a glue or a sealant ,I'v not seen it in the UK. I can't find any reference to what finish you use ,have I missed it? and do you have anymore books of patterns for segmentation please. I would love to try antarsia but I have quite a bad shake and find it difficult to get a realy acurate cut, with segmentation it does'nt matter if you go slightly of track. Mal

Hey Mal.....Thanx for the compliment. Sorry I took so long to respond. Check your PM's. I gave you my Email address and will be happy to answer any and all questions you may have. The silicone caulk is actually a sealant as opposed to a glue, which I explained in the PM. There is a silicone adhesive on the market but to date I haven't had occasion to use it.
