Exclamation Hegner 18" Multimax

I have had the above mentioned saw since 1996 and it has worked great, but recently the tensioning on the blade is not able to be controlled. I adjust it as normal and then start the saw and the vibration of the saw causes the adjustment handle on the top to spin and loosen by itself. Any suggestions? Did something break?

If you call Advanced Machinery they will help you figure out what is wrong. They are the USA dealer for Hegners. Good folks there. I have a 1986 25" Hegner and it still runs fine.

Welcome "a-board" Robert, I don't have a Hegner but Jim gave you excellent advise.

When you say vibration, are we talking mild vibration, or saw walking across the floor vibration?

I had a bit of vibration on th Hegner and determined the saw was a little loose to the stand, so tightening that helped. The more serious issue was the connector that links the motor to the arms had a crack. That piece finally broke outright, and when I replaced it, the saw was much much smoother. I've heard of that plastic connector piece cracking or breaking on multiple folks.

Welcome Robert...I agree with Jim....I have two Hegners and when I have problems (not very often by the way) I just call the good folks at Advance Machinery....they almost always have the answer.

Default Hegner --

Advanced Machinery are GREAT folks.... They helped my add a Hobbs meter to my saw. And helped fix another problem with it also. Quick , Good and Friendly. welcome aboard.

Mine only vibrates when the speed is above 7 out of 10.
