| Photo file size When I upload pics of my scroll work the file seems very large compared to those the other scrollers submit. How can I reduce the size without taking away the detail??
Jim

| Jim,
Depending on your software, there should be an option to resize the image. In PSP, I can adjust the % of reduction and it tells me the pixel size of the image. On here for jpg you're limited to 780 X 780. If you're reducing the size, you should not lose any of the clarity in the photo, typically it's only when going the other way (enlarging) that you run the risk of losing detail.

IrfanView 2008 Download | IrfanView is great, but the real download web site is http://www.irfanview.com/. I don't know what that other web site is, but you have to "join" in order to download any of the software that they're listing, and I don't believe they're even associated with IrfanView. |

| G'day Jim,
I use Microsoft picture manager to resize the photos.
It's easy and you can either type in one of the sizes or just resize by percentage.
I think it came with Office.
BTW, what graphic programmes do you have. I've just about got a simple tutorial done for colouring patterns in Paint Shop Pro ???????????? |

| Thanks to all. I will give the suggested programs a shot. I use an 8 megapixel camera. The graphics programs I use have been supplied with the computer running XP.
When I get it all sorted I will post my latest works. I saw is a Hegner Multicut - 1.
Jim
