Default Question for Tony & June Burns

I have just cut the patterns in your wonderful book, Scroll Saw Farm Puzzles. My question involves the staining or painting of the pieces. When I have cut stand up puzzles before, I usually paint both sides of all the pieces and the outside edge of the entire puzzle. I don't paint the interior cuts of the puzzle because it makes it harder to put together. Your instructions seem to indicate that you stain or paint all edges of all pieces but give no information about what you do to the second or back side of the puzzle pieces. Do you just seal the back side or do you also paint it like the front side?
Thank you in advance for answering my question.
