| Bird Finishing I am doing a bird, and I would like to know what any of you have done to finish it of, (ie: Paint, Woodburn ect.,ect.,ect.

| Re: Bird Finishing ??? What kind of bird? Decoy? Song Bird? Realistic or stylized? Basswood, Tupalo or an exotic wood? What you use to finish it is somewhat dependent on answers to these questions. They can be woodburned, painted, sanded and oiled, stained, etc. but it depends on what you want it to look like when it's complete. Perhaps you should do an internet search on carved birds or some such term to see what others are doing. I would not recommend wallpaper, however.

| Re: Bird Finishing How deep should the wing feathers be groved? I saw a line in mine so they stand out some, but have see some with smooth line. My birds are in winter so fluffed up for cold. |
