Default carved "trout" coffee table plans needed

I would like to do one of those coffee tables where the carving is under the glass top; I can do the carving but I don't have a lot of experience building furniture. Does anyone know where I can get some plans to build a coffee table to house the carving? thanks

What I do, and more woodworkers than are willing to admit it do, is take a notebood and a tape measure and make the rounds of furniture stores. Find one you like and make a rough drawing with rough measurements (try to get the height exact as it's pretty much standard) modify it to your satisfaction (or not) and your good to go.

Cabella's sold those coffee tables, and our local trout club has one. I'll try to get the actual dimensions, but it looks to be pretty standard. They also made a taller, square end table using the same 'under-glass' construction. They are striking tables but look like a lot of work.

The dimensions are: 31 3/4' wide, 47' long, and 18' high; the glass area is 24 1/4' wide and 39' long, and the trout is about 9' long. You can buy a resin cast replica for $1,595.00 or carve your own. The original was carved by Vermont artist William Herrick over 25 years ago.
