Default FINALLY sold something!

This has been a GOOD week! First, four of my entries in the County Fair all took blue ribbons (can I brag, here?) and one took Grand Champion in Class. That will go to the State Fair in Detroit next year.

Went fishing with the neighbor; didn't catch a thing, but had a pair of loons follow us around for almost an hour and finally did a 'loon dance' for us within five feet of the boat! WOW! Only one drawback, neither of us brought a camera, but I have a good mental picture and eventually will carve a loon dance.

This morning I got a check in the mail from Popov's Gallery in Minocqua, Wi. for two of my fish carvings, they sold. I was beginning to wonder if I had what was necessary to put a carving out worth selling. Nancy quite graciously bought one of my crayfish a couple years back, but everything else has just sat around in different galleries. This was a good ego boost!

Now I have to go and do some more carving.......been holding off for lack of space for 'woodwork' in the house!

The thrill of creating something you're proud of is worth its weight in gold.....nothing can top that. But there's a a very special thrill in having another person admire your work so much that they're willing to part with a nice, fat chunk of cash.
Congratulations, Al. That's great !!

CONGRATULATIONS, AL!! That's terrific! As a new 'seller' I know just how you feel and I agree so much with what Nancy says. Knowing people are willing to pay you for doing something you love doing, well, it's the best thing (next to family) that I can think of! I'm very happy for you! Callynne

Nothing like selling something to get the creative juices flowing! I haven't sold any carvings, but know the feeling from selling paintings...good on ya Al, keep the streak going!

AlArchie: Congrats on the ribbons and selling your first piece, many more to come. I am getting ready to put the fruits of my carving up for sale. Anyone need firewood, it's for sale now. LOL
