bears fur

hi everyone
one quick question i am carving a bear and dont know how to do the fur can anyone help?

You can carve bear fur with v-tools and veiners or burn it. I use a woodburner for my bears, after putting in some coarse texture with gouges. It helps to draw some lines with pencil to show the general direction of the fur. DON'T work in more than one direction! If you start at the nose, keep going until you get to the feet and the tail. If you reverse direction, you'll have a mess. Get some good photos of bears and keep referring to them as you burn to make sure you're putting in enough texture, shadows and highlights. Burn heavily. You can create the claws with your woddburner as well.

you can also 'stone' it using a stone in a dremel or foredom type tool.

I just purchased a set of Rotary Chisels they come in A B C & D profiles they are wonderful. I find that the D profile is great for doing hair and if very fast. These chisels come in three or four different sizes the ones I have right now are the smallest they cost me about $100 Canadian for the set that would be about $70 US mind you the large profiles are about $70 US each.
