Default Sharon's Chickadee is done!!

I just finished my daughter's Chickadee and put pictures of it on my Album site. If anyone wants to check it out just click on the address below, it's in the Album titled, Sharon's Chickadee....I know, how original! Ha! Ha!
I am so thrilled to have it done in time for Christmas! I know I said it before but if anyone wants to do birds Rosalyn Daisey's books are worth every penny! Thanks again for the advice and encouragment everyone, I NEEDED IT!! Callynne

Deborah,
That is truly an inspirational carving I just love the detail and how well that pine branch turned out you are one talented lady and I am sure your daughter will just love the carving I know I would. Thanks for sharing it with us I always love to see your work.

Callynne...would you care to adopt?? lol that is one terrific carving, you did a great job on the chickadee and its hard to believe the needles are manila envelopes! Are you going to fess up and tell us how to put on the envelopes? And one last point, make sure to tell your daughter, you reserve the right to put that one in a show or two!! It s definitely a winner....

Hi_Ho's right Callynne, he's a winner. Absolutely beautiful. The painting is perfect!! I was trying to decide what kind of bird to do next and now you've inspired me to do a chickadee.

Chris

That is a beautiful piece of work! One of the best I have seen. It looks so real it should hop off the branch!

Okay, real quick before anything happens I want to thank you all for the great compliments...whew...I'm glad I got that said!
Yesterday just as I started to type a reply our electric went off, for seven hours! Last night I started to reply and our ISP went down, I couldn't get re-connected. Winter in Pennsylvania, beautiful but frustrating sometimes. They are calling for six more inches today, hope at least it stays through Christmas!! Not necessary more, just what we have!
Nancy, my goal is to finish up the rest of the promised pieces I put on hold before starting all those Santas. Hopefully in time to get all the next batch of Santas done!
David, I used a product called Tub O' Snow by Delta. I got it through Schrock's, no web site that I know of but their phone number is 1-800-426-4659, if you want a catalog. They sell craft kinds of things, great prices, quick deliverary!
Dave, hmmmm, can you adopt your brother?? Hubby says the same thing about entering him in competition, but I figure once I give them away they aren't mine anymore. If I borrowed it and anything happend to it I'd never forgive myself! Don't think Sharon would be too happy with me either!
The pine needles were attached with super glue gel, one drop, one pine needle at a time! Fun, fun, not hard, just tedious!!
Thanks again for all the compliments, it has been said on here before, the money is great if we sell one, praise from family and friends is terrific but to have our work appreciated by fellow carvers is an incredibly wonderful feeling!! Callynne

It looks alive. Beautiful, just great work. I wish I had just a little bit of your talent. I have carved songbirds and it's so hard to make them look alive. Congradulations on a fine carving.
