Default Parakeet

This is a carving of a Parakeet that I finished a couple weeks ago. The bird was carved from tupelo and painted with acrylics. The base was made from tulip popler and red oak.

I am amazed at what you produce and at your age! Most people don't even start carving until much older...I envy you...as I said, you will be a master carver in a very few years and we can all say...'yeh we knew him when..' lol

David.......What a wonderful piece !

Not only are you a fantastic carver and realistic painter, but very artistic & creative.

As I learn a little more about carving myself, believe me when I say, your work is going to inspire me to try a bird, however, I'm not at that level yet.

Keep up the great work, enjoy your web site too, and please keep showing us some more pictures.

David: How do you keep the base so clean with that bird sitting right above it? (grin) Great carving

Nice! I've got one just like it upstairs, usually looking at himself in the mirror or flying down here to 'bug' me while I'm on the computer Very realistic!
