Here goes! No, I have never posted before due to I've never really had the chance to get into woodworking until I met and married my husband a little over 4 yrs. ago. He is a wonderful woodworker and really encourages me to jump in and try whatever I am interested in. I was too busy raising my daughters then granddaughters and working all the time at two jobs, to get them through college. Now, thanks to my husband he has intoduced me to woodworking. He bought me a small lathe 2 yrs ago and gave me the oppertunity to use all his tools--as he teaches me how to use them and can see that I am safe enough with them. I'm not green to carpenter work so I do have a high respect for saws etc. I was one of those wives, dueing my first marriage that had to finish what my husband (at that time) started. I've done everything from shingles, paneling, tile work, siding, etc. The guys, going by my house would stop and watch from their cars or stand on the sidewalk up the street watching me. No one ever offered to help, due to being afraid of my husband. They all began calling me Ralph and would yell at me (heh, Ralph, what you going to do today?). My husband, now, encouraged me to subscribe to your magazine and I love it! Back when I was a young girl we never had the chance we have today of doing anything like this. I keep telling my husband don't be surprised if he comes in to use something and I tell him he'll have to wait until I'm done with it. Thanks for the wonderful magazine. Bonnie

Bonnie Welcome to this forum and glad to have you here. When the guys called you Ralph, it reminds me of Green Acres and there was a gal there they all called Raplh. This may be what they were referring to when seeing you do the work. waynemn
